The History Department has organized an exciting journey for 26 students from Form 2 to Form 5, taking place from 18 July to 27 July. Our exploration of historical sites across two countries and ten cities in Germany and Austria has been an enlightening experience.
From Berlin to Vienna, with stops in Potsdam, Leipzig, Bayreuth, Nuremberg, Dachau, Munich, Salzburg, and Linz, we delved deep into history. Sites like the Topography of Terror, Dachau Concentration Camp, BMW Welt & BMW Museum, and the Vienna International Centre provided a vivid picture of the past, spanning the Holy Roman Empire, the World Wars, and the Cold War, illustrating how our present world has been shaped.
The interactions with local guides in each of the ten cities were both inspiring and heartwarming. They not only shared valuable historical insights but also personal anecdotes, giving us a glimpse into their lives and the essence of their cities. As we bid farewell, let us carry forward the lessons learned, the memories cherished, and the bonds forged during this incredible journey.
May the echoes of our shared experiences inspire curiosity and compassion in all our future endeavors. We are excited to organize more tours in the future and hope to provide our students with valuable opportunities to learn history beyond the confines of the classroom and textbooks.
