Exploring Educational Excellence: A Visit to The King's School Shenzhen

In mid-January, Principal Mr. Dennis Yuen and Assistant Vice Principal Ms. Amanda Ng had the privilege of visiting The King's School Shenzhen. This international branch, affiliated with The King's School Canterbury, has a remarkable heritage dating back to 597 AD and is considered one of the oldest schools in Europe.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to The Very Rev. Dr. Robert Willis, The Dean Emeritus of Canterbury Cathedral, for his valuable suggestion. Dr. Willis served as the guest preacher on December 3, 2023, at St. John's Cathedral for The First Sunday of Advent and also joined us on December 5, 2023, for the Sports Day (Final) at Wan Chai Sports Ground. During our time, Dean Robert recommended a day tour to The King's School Shenzhen, recognizing the significance of exploring the history of this esteemed institution as part of our journey.

The visit to The King's School Shenzhen provided us with invaluable insights into the provision of top-quality education and care for young people. It exemplified how the school draws inspiration from the finest educational practices in both China and the UK, while infusing its own distinctive King's touch with a strong emphasis on creativity and communication. As we continue to shape the future of education, this visit has undoubtedly inspired us to strive for excellence and embrace collaborative approaches.
