The First Assemblies of the New School Year

Today's morning assemblies marked the first day of the new school year, albeit with a slight departure from the norm.

Initially scheduled for last Friday, the assembly had to be rescheduled to this morning due to the unfortunate closure of the school caused by Typhoon Saola. Furthermore, the College Principal, Mr. Dennis Yuen, was unable to attend. On 2 September, Mr. Yuen, together with two teachers, departed for Xi'an. Their purpose was to accompany several Form Five students participating in an exchange program with our sister school, The High School Affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University.

Following the solemn flag-raising ceremony and the singing of the College Hymn, Assistant Vice Principals Amanda Ng and David Chan conveyed the Principal's message on his behalf in the two morning assemblies, respectively. This heartfelt message extended a warm welcome to both new and returning teachers and students, emphasizing the importance of striving for excellence throughout the upcoming academic year.

True to our cherished traditions, the assembly concluded with a spirited rendition of the College Song.

Here's to a successful academic year for all Paulines! We extend our sincerest wishes for your continued success and fulfillment at SPC!
