SPC STEAM Team wins championship in PolyU CubeSat Mission Programme

Congratulations to Cheung Ming Hei (5C), Liang Yuezhe (4E), Wong Ho Him (4E), and Szeto Wang Kit (4F) from our STEAM team on winning the championship in the “PolyU CubeSat Mission – Space Debris Removal” programme. The school team was led and coached by Mr. Chan Ping Yiu, our STEAM coordinator.

The two-month programme was organized by the Department of Aeronautical and Aviation Engineering (AAE) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in collaboration with the Orion Astropreneur Space Academy (OASA). It aimed to inspire S.4 and S.5 students to harness their critical thinking and STEAM skills to create a CubeSat, a small satellite capable of removing space debris orbiting the Earth.

The team members attended ten sessions on Saturdays, including lectures, workshops, laboratory visits, and software design activities, all under the expert guidance and mentorship of PolyU and OASA scholars.

On the final presentation day of April 29th, 2023, our students demonstrated their innovative ideas and unwavering determination, which impressed the judges and earned them the championship title.
