Citizenship and Social Development and School-Based Common Core Extended Study

Several information and sharing sessions were held by the Citizenship and Social Development (CS) Department before and after the summer break to prepare our students for the two new subjects in senior forms: Citizenship and Social Development; and School-based Common Core Extended Study.

Before the summer break, senior student ambassadors spoke about their interdisciplinary learning experience from their independent study on the research topic: “A sustainable and ideal city in 2030”.

Over the past two weeks, five alumni have come back to share with Paulines the valuable skills and lessons they gained from conducting independent research study. They were: Edward Wong (Class of 2019), Thomas Yu (Class of 2019), Jack Chen (Class of 2022), Adrian Choi (Class of 2020) and Louis Yun (Class of 2015).

The CS Department has also organized an exam preparation session for F.6 DSE Liberal Studies (LS) students with two recent graduates speaking about exam skills and study tips for achieving high grades in the subject. They were Anson Yip (Class of 2022), a first year BBA Global Business student at HKUST, and Jabez Hon (Class of 2021), a second year BSc Quantitative Finance student at HKU.

We hope our students will make good of the multiple transdisciplinary learning experiences afforded by the two subjects and continue to explore issues and topics that interest them as lifelong learners.
