Form 1 Orientation Day

While it's still summer break, the campus came alive last Saturday afternoon as we welcomed our new Form 1 students and their parents in the school hall at Form 1 Orientation Day.

Mr. Dennis Yuen, the Principal, and Mr. Johnny Li, the PTA Chairman, opened the event with welcoming remarks.

In his welcome address, Mr. Yuen outlined three sets of abilities that will be crucial to the students’ success in the coming year and beyond at school. They include self-management, which involves attributes like self-discipline, motivation, and independence; time management, which ensures a healthy balance between study, rest and play; and a resilient mindset that enables one to persevere in the face of adversity.

Following the principal’s speech, PTA Chairman Mr. Li acknowledged the participation of current parents in the PTA activities over the past academic year. He encouraged the new parents to join the PTA not only as members but also as key stakeholders in their child’s education and development.

The orientation also included briefings and introductions from the Vice Principal, Mr. Keith Wong, the assistant vice-principals, department heads and teachers on various topics ranging from ‘The First day of School’ to ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) to curriculum and assessment.

Before the day's final Q&A session, parents had the opportunity to meet and get to know their child's form teachers.

We are looking forward to seeing our new students, smartly dressed in school uniform, on the first day of school this Thursday!
