St Paul's College Alumni Choir Celebrates 5th Anniversary with Spectacular Concert.
No Pauline will want to miss the beautiful synchronicity of the College Alumni Choir performing in this landmark event sponsored by the Apollo Singers.  The Concert will be held at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall on Wednesday, the 1st of November, commencing at 8:00 p.m.

Nine different choral groupswill perform in the concert, and conductors for the evening are the legendary SPC icons Mr. Raymond Fu and Mr. Joe Chan.

One of the featured events in the anniversary concert will be the Alumni Choir singing with the DSOBA (Diocesan School Old Boys Choir) and the HYOGA (HeepYunn Old Girls’ Association Choir).

Perhaps the most anticipated highlight of the evening will be the piano duet performed by Mary Mei Loc Wu and Gabriel Kwok.  These performers need no introduction as they are both SPC musical royalty. Mary Wu is the daughter of our eminent music master, the late Reverend Moses Wu, under whose tutelage the school became well-known for its music programmes.  Reverend Wu is the composer of the beloved College Song, and Dr. Wu, who received her doctorate in music from the State University of New York, was hailed by Ravel’s protégé, the late VladoPerlemuter as “one of the most gifted pianists of her generation”. Mary Wu was also praised by Yehudi Menuhin as having “a captivating poetical quality to her playing.”  We are honored to have her with us to celebrate the SPC alumni choir’s 5th anniversary, performing a duet with Mr Gabriel Kwok, SPC alumnus and head of Keyboard Studies at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts. Professor Kwok was awarded the Medal of Honour from the Hong Kong Government in 2014 for his contribution to piano education in Hong Kong.
