Osaka Convention and Tourism Bureau's Visit to SPC
A group of six Japanese officials from the Osaka Convention and Tourism Bureau (OCTB) paid a visit to the College on 22th September 2017.

The OTCB has greatly assisted us in organizing the Students’ Association’s cultural expeditions to Osaka in the past two summers. Their visit was more than a courtesy one, since one main purpose of their visit was to obtain first-hand information about our College’s successful Global Classroom Programme.

The guests were warmly received by our Principal and Vice-Principals. Two Form 5 students, Yeung Yan Chun Ivan (5C) and Cheuk Lok Yin Laurence acted as interpreters, as the school administrators and teachers introduced to our guests the multiple aspects of the Global Classroom Programme and various student exchange activities organised by our school. The group of visitors were also shown around the College by two student docents, Wu Cheuk Him (5D) and Tang Yan Ching (5E). The school tour included the Heritage Trail and the College History Gallery at Wong Ming Him Hall.

Our guests from Japan were presented with a very special souvenir, which was a scroll with the Chinese characters, “同道為朋” (roughly translated as “Same-minded people are friends”). The beautiful Chinese calligraphy was written by our Chinese Language teacher, Ms. S.K. Lam.

We are grateful for the OCTB’s visit. We look forward to more opportunities for exchange and collaboration with our Japanese friends in the future.
