June is World Environment Month. We’re excited to share our recent achievements and upcoming sustainability initiatives.
In May, we were honored to receive the Ming Pao Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Award and to join the Campus Sustainable Future Recognition Ceremony. These accomplishments reflect the collective efforts of our entire SPC community—thank you to our students, parents, teachers, alumni, and community partners!
We also earned the Active Participation Award for Hong Kong Green Day 2025 through our School Recycling Initiative and received certification for the United Nations World Environment Day 2025 – Hong Kong Action cum Net-Zero School Project. The final carbon report and auditing statement for 2023 are now complete. Special thanks to the Education in Sustainability Teacher Team and our Student Sustainability Ambassadors for their training and data collection efforts. These findings will help shape our ESG school policies next year.
Earlier in April, our Student Sustainability Ambassadors joined the Low-carbon Eating Cooking Competition hosted by St. Stephen’s Girls’ College. Themed “Panda,” the event was both fun and inspiring. We look forward to next year’s joint-school competition.
Meanwhile, our smart recycling facilities are progressing well. These bins will provide educational content for students and teachers, encouraging eco-conscious habits through data-driven insights. Trial activities will begin in July ahead of full implementation in the new school year.
Let’s continue building a greener future together—get involved, stay informed, and be part of the change!
